Description & Requirements. 
An architect responsible for designing and developing the Sonata software product and peripheral microservices.
Sonata is a modern global unified financial services management platform, which caters for a wider array of financial products and is able to operate in many geographic jurisdictions. The engineering job involves backlog elaboration, design, coding, and development of modern Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) automated test technology. The
Sonata product backlog is based on both customer requirements and internally led architecture innovation. Work is done in an agile methodology in closely collaboration peers in a cross-functional scrum team and with product owners.
This role will report to the Architecture Manager and be required to collaborate with other teams in the globally distributed development organization.

Key skills to succeed in this role:

Advanced software development and coding in a range of technical areas including back-office administration applications, digital channels, web services, integrations, and bulk concurrent back-end processing.
Ability to identify innovative technical solutions to business requirements.
Undertake troubleshooting and problem solving of software defects, application, and technical environment issues.
Advanced level ability to de-bug code and identify and rectify defects or data issues.
Leverage and champion modern automated test engineering practices
Work closely with Business Analysts, other Engineers and client facing Technical Consultants, understand, clarify, and
challenge requirements and solutions.
Contribute effectively to backlog elaboration activities and estimation activities.
Provide assistance and training as required to peers and colleagues.
Undertake and support software builds and installations.
Assist with preparation and delivery of software releases.
Understand, follow and champion technical and quality standards and procedures.S
Suggest and recommend changes to technical standards and procedures.
Competently use project and team systems (JIRA, Confluence, EPM, Git, Jenkins etc)
Document all work effectively.
Undertake and participate in peer reviews.
Participate effectively in team and project meetings.
Ensure assigned work is completed in a timely fashion and in accordance to agreed estimates..

Skills and knowledge required
7+ years of experience.
Has experience with software product development.
Worked in software development environment with medium to large teams (i.e. teams > 5 persons)
Has worked within organizations where typical or best-practice software development methods and practices have been utilized.
Preferably with some experience on a relevant Financial Services software product

Progressive commercial Java development experience
A proven understanding of industry standard software development life cycles
Excellent working knowledge of Java 9+, including an IDE such as Eclipse.
Excellent working knowledge of popular Java frameworks such as Hibernate, Angular and Web Services.
Good understanding of microservice architecture.
Familiar with modern technical practices in aspects such as automated test engineering, big data techniques, elastic cloud infrastructure, digital channel technology etc
Knowledge of database platforms, including SQL, performance optimization, transactional and DR concerns.
Advanced troubleshooting and debugging techniques.
