Description & Requirements:

Position Purpose:
The Client Services team owns application level activity in relation but not limited to, deployment/technical administration/problem identification, incident resolution and value-added services across Bravura’s global client user base.
A Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) combines engineering experience and an innate drive to improve existing systems and processes, with the creativity to develop novel solutions to evolving challenges. SREs are responsible for the availability and reliability of critical platform services and applications, ensuring they meet the requirements of internal and external users. SREs are motivated to collaborate with business leaders in building and running sustainable production systems, which can evolve and adapt to changes in a global business environment.

Main Responsibilities:
Whilst we expect all our employees to do what needs to be done to demonstrate their support of Bravura, below are some specific aspects of your role for which you will be responsible:
Own the availability of the production environment by monitoring and taking a holistic view of system health.
  • Build software and systems to manage platform infrastructure and applications.
  • Improve reliability, quality, and time-to-market of our suite of software solutions.
  • Measure and optimize system performance, with an eye toward pushing our capabilities forward, getting ahead of customer needs, and innovating to continually improve.
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple large, distributed software applications.
  • Whilst the role will be predominantly based in UK, the ability to travel between Bravura offices and Client sites may be required.
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding.
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
  • Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning.
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts.
  • Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service level objectives
  • Imparting knowledge and supporting peers within the Client Services organisation
What you will need succeed:
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate ideas, concepts and facts to Clients, peers, and senior members of staff both written and verbally.
  • ▪Friendly, professional, and business-like approach to both external and internal clients
  • Systematic, logical thinker with excellent attention to detail
  • Good client focus with the ability to build positive effective relationships.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other highly technical, scientific discipline/MCA with 10-15 of experience
  • A good understating of best practice in application development methodology, together with previous experience in a technical engineering function
  • Ability to program (structured and OO) with one or more high level languages, such as Python, Java, C/C++, Ruby, and JavaScript
  • Experience with distributed storage technologies like NFS, HDFS, Ceph, S3 as well as dynamic resource management frameworks (Mesos, Kubernetes, Yarn)
  • Proven knowledge of databases, SQL preferable on Oracle Database or SQL Server
