Description & Requirements:

The Senior Business Consultant is a core member of a layered, multi-disciplinary team responsible for designing, developing, testing and implementing a business solution.

The Senior Business Consultant will take a leadership role with our clients across analysis, definition and documentation of business and functional requirements and configuration. They will support the client’s product proposition and operating model throughout the implementation of the Sonata software package within Wealth Management clients.

This role can be based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.  

Main Activities

  • Business process; collaborate with client staff to define how an in-scope business process will be fulfilled through the alignment of people, process and technology;
  • Requirements; document what the technology platform needs to achieve to support the client’s operating model, organisation structure and ways of working;
  • Solutioning; identify how the client’s technology requirements can be best supported within the Sonata platform through configuration or new development;
  • Configuration; participate in the configuration of the Sonata application;
  • Test criteria; develop the criteria that engineering staff will use to ensure that any development work has been successfully completed;
  • Test support; analyse incidents arising from user test to determine whether the Sonata application is working as expected;
  • Work administration; plan and account for all implementation effort expended.
  • Stakeholder management; build and maintain stakeholder relationships

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least 7 years’ experience in a business consulting / client facing capacity within successful technology implementation programmes 
  • Experience of multiple, end-end implementations of large financial applications 
  • Financial Services background essential with Wealth Management, Funds Admin, Transfer Agency experience a must
  • Experience working for a software solution provider is an advantage 
  • Experience with a workflow tool and BPMN – designing or setting up processes – is an advantage
  • Understanding of APIs and / or web services
  • Ability to use SQL queries to analyse and triage data issues 
  • Educated to degree level in Commerce or IT
