About The Role

We are looking for a detail orientated and proactive Revenue Accountant to join our finance team in the Sydney office. Reporting to the Head of Group Accounting, you will be required to manage Accounts Receivable, Billing, Collection and other Revenue Activities ensuring revenue recognition and compliance with IFRS standards. You will thrive in a collaborative team environment, working closely with clients and third parties and possess the ability to pick things up quickly.

What You’ll Do 

  • Liaising with stakeholders, managing accounts receivable mailbox and responding to client queries.
  • Prepare and post manual journals for the release of accrued and deferred revenue, cost of sales, contract costs, commission, bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Processing professional services, maintenance and license invoices in line with client contracts and approval requirement's.
  • Issue month end timetable for invoicing & revenue closure.
  • Process credit notes and receipts, revenue deferral, accrual journals and revenue variance analysis reporting. 
  • Coordinate and participate in collection activities.
  • Assisting with auditing ensuring compliance with policies and IFRS standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve revenue, billing and AR processes.
  • Prepare, review and distribute weekly Accounts Receivable Aging reports.
  • Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as required.

Unleash your potential

To be successful in this role, your background and experience will include:
  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration 
  • 3+ years experience in a revenue accounting or accounts receivable role
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and IFRS experience is highly regarded
  • Hands on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software, Workday Financials is desirable
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal,  organisational and stakeholder management skills 
  • An exceptional eye for detail and high level of accuracy with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Advanced Excel skills and good data collation skills
  • Curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
