Description & Requirements:

You will be joining us as we expand our Australian consulting operations to transition our clients to Sonata Alta, our highly automated, digital-first operating model.  The Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, video and wireless network service.  The Senior Engineer’s role is designer, implementer and administrator of the local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization.  The Network Engineer participates in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. As a result of our continued growth, this is a role for someone who thrives in a past faced, ever-evolving environment. 

Main Activities:
  • Develop strategies for network implementations and build/maintain the infrastructure required to support those strategies
  • Assess, recommend and implement near-and-long term network capacity needs
  • Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration, usage, and disaster recovery
  • Assist in the creation of processes and procedures for client network operations. Set up and maintain network operations, including assembly of computer and network hardware, and provide assistance to the client– escalate issues when appropriate.  
  • Design, plan and deploy company LANs, WANs, WLANs, border networks, and VPN, including, but not limited to, routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers/access points, WAN optimizers, UPSs, and other network infrastructure-related hardware
  • Oversee equipment, hardware, and software upgrades
  • Configure networks and monitor network performance and troubleshoot problem areas
  • Support network connectivity effort of all servers, workstations, telephony equipment, and other network appliances

  • Solid experience within an equivalent Senior Network Engineer/Analyst 
  • Expert working knowledge is required within at least two of the following technologies (Checkpoint FW's, Cisco and Load-Balancers- F5) Cisco Nexus and IOS knowledge and working experience.  
  • Knowledge of Stacking, VPC, VSS and VRF technology BGP , Spanning-Tree 
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model, especially layers 4-7 (such as TCP, HTTP, SSL, AUTH protocols) 
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices (such as switches/routers/firewalls)  
  • Understanding of network routing/switching technologies 
  • IPSEC VPNs, configuration and troubleshooting 
  • Natting on WAN routers and ASA FW 
  • LAN/ WAN, Switching & Routing, ASA Firewalls, Cisco FirePower Services.
  • Troubleshooting issues using TCPDUMP and Wireshark, reviewing network fw logs 
  • Understanding of DNS configuration
  • Experience with working with cloud vendors (AWS / Azure) would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – able to communicate ideas, concepts and facts to both projects, peers and senior members of staff.
