About The Project 

The Lead Technical Specialist is a senior, hands-on technical leader responsible for strengthening the engineering organization’s technical depth, ensuring production stability, and driving execution of the product’s technical and architectural roadmap. The role acts as a critical escalation point for complex technical issues and mentors scrum teams to raise overall engineering maturity.

Provide technical leadership and strategic direction in the design, development, and implementation of scalable and robust applications. This role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, working on issues of diverse scope, leading by example, supporting teams to deliver under any challenging circumstances, and ensuring best practices in system architecture, design, and code quality.

The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of Java ecosystems, microservices, cloud architecture, and software development best practices, with a focus on delivering high-performance, reliable, and secure applications.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as a senior technical authority and mentor to multiple Scrum teams, providing guidance on design, coding practices, debugging, and problem solving.
• Act as the primary technical escalation point for critical, business-impacting production incidents, leading rapid triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution.
• Lead technical troubleshooting and deep-dive analysis for complex defects, performance bottlenecks, and system stability issues across environments.
• Drive resolution of high-priority technical problem tickets by applying innovative, out-of-the-box thinking and strong diagnostic skills.
• Own and contribute to execution of key architectural roadmap initiatives in collaboration with the Architecture and Platform teams.
• Partner closely with the Architecture team to translate product technical strategy into executable engineering deliverables.
• Provide hands-on expertise in production application performance monitoring, tuning, scalability, and resilience improvements.
• Propose, lead and conduct technical research and proof-of-concept activities for new tools, platforms, and frameworks.
• Influence and improve engineering standards related to code quality, performance, observability, and operational excellence.
• Strengthen and build technical capability within the engineering organization through coaching, knowledge sharing, design reviews, and best-practice adoption.

Unleash your potential

To be successful in this role, your background and experience will include:

• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with at least 3–5 years operating in a senior technical leadership or specialist role, preferably within a product-based organization.
• Proven expertise in designing, developing, and supporting large-scale, enterprise-grade, multi-tier applications in production environments.
• Deep hands-on experience in Java, with strong debugging and code analysis capabilities.
• Expertise in Java, Spring Framework, microservices architecture, containerization, RESTful APIs, Angular and/or React, relational and NoSQL databases, for example : Oracle and PostgreSql etc., and technical designing tools.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), DevOps practices, tools, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Good to have – Experience in developing Artificial Intelligence based products, Generative AI applications, including Agentic AI.
• Demonstrated experience in diagnosing and resolving complex production issues, including performance degradation, scalability challenges, memory leaks, and concurrency problems.
• Strong understanding of application performance monitoring, profiling, and observability tools, and the ability to use data-driven insights to drive issue resolution.
• Solid knowledge of system architecture patterns, microservices, APIs, messaging, and integration patterns in distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, release management, and supporting high-availability production deployments.
• Strong understanding of software quality practices, including code reviews, automated testing, defect root-cause analysis, and reduction of defect leakage.
• Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments, with the ability to influence multiple teams without direct line management authority.
