About The Role

We are seeking a driven and detail orientated Financial Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract to join our finance team based in our Sydney office with hybrid working.  Reporting to the Head of Group Accounting, the Financial Accountant will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, month-end close, and statutory compliance for a listed entity and its subsidiaries.

You will play a key role in ensuring reporting quality, supporting audits, and responding to stakeholder queries, while also contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. 


What You’ll Do

  • Manage month-end close activities across consolidated and subsidiary entities and ensure month end reporting is completed within timelines
  • Assist with compliance activities including tax compliance, ABS surveys and jurisdictional reporting requirements
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Actively participate in the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts  
  • Participate in finance projects and audits
  • Proactively identify and implement process and system improvements

Unleash your potential

To be successful in this role, your background and experience will include:
  • 3+ years experience in a similar Financial Accountant role
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting and CA/CPA qualified
  • Experience working within a listed organisation
  • Strong understanding of IFRS and ability to explain accounting matters to non finance stakeholders
  • Experience with Workday Financials is desirable
  • Advanced Excel skills 
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal,  organisational and stakeholder management skills 
  • An exceptional eye for detail and high level of accuracy with the ability to manage deadlines
  • Curious mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
