Role Description
The Corporate Technology Project & Portfolio Manager, reporting to the Global Head of IT, is responsible for overseeing the delivery and progress of projects across the Corporate IT portfolio, as well as supporting the wider operations of the department. This role combines project management with portfolio management and strategic coordination, ensuring technology initiatives align with business priorities, projects are delivered successfully and that the department is operating effectively. This is a great opportunity for someone with established project management skills to transition into a broader role within a technology function.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery Management
• Plan, execute and monitor IT projects from initiation to closure
• Manage timelines, budgets, risks, issues and dependencies across multiple projects
• Coordinate with internal teams, business stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery
Portfolio Management
• Maintain a consolidated portfolio of all IT projects and initiatives
• Track progress, resource allocation and key milestones
• Prepare regular portfolio reports and dashboards and lead portfolio review meetings
• Lead the management of the portfolio lifecycle including intake, analysis, prioritisation, approval, delivery, closure and benefits tracking
IT Department Operations & Governance
• Support the Head of IT in ensuring that IT operations are well governed and managed
• Coordinate IT leadership meetings, agendas and follow-up actions
• Assist in the management of department financials working with IT leadership, Finance and Procurement colleagues to ensure spend is proactively managed
• Help support the growth and development of talent across the department by supporting workforce planning and HR/Learning & Development initiatives
Communication & Reporting
• Produce clear updates for stakeholders, handle feedback and escalate issues promptly
• Lead the production and distribution of department communications
• Support change management activities and benefits tracking for major initiatives
Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience in IT project management
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies including both Agile and Waterfall
• Familiarity with portfolio management and coordination
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to handle competing priorities
• Familiarity with tools such as MS Project, JIRA, Asana or equivalents
• Prince 2 & AGILE Practitioner or equivalent highly desirable
