About The Role

Reporting to the Head of Operations and Advice, based out of our Sydney or Melbourne Office, the Sales Director Advice leads excellence in the delivery of all aspects of business development across our Midwinter's advice technology.  Responsible for establishing, building and closing new business sales opportunities within the Australia market. The role is integral to Midwinter’s growth strategy, monitoring marketing trends, assessing client needs, leading and managing the sales team to achieve sales targets and drive revenue growth, expand our customer base and strengthen our market proposition.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute vision, sales strategy and market proposition 
  • Generate a pipeline of sales opportunities based on customer, competitor and market insight from the Financial Advice industry both at an IFA and Enterprise level
  • Develop executive client relationships and work closely with partners to align strategy and deal opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business leaders and teams within Midwinter and Bravura such as Marketing, Partnerships, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, Client Delivery and Service
  • Manage pipeline reporting, sales reports and analysis to executives and implement appropriate reporting and CRM processes for activity and results of sales team
  • Identify prospect’s objectives, budget or commercial expectations are aligned to Midwinter’s pricing
  • Own and produce sales proposals with the support of product teams, lead RFI’s, RFP's and the negotiation process through to contract sign off and handover to delivery and operations
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity and client feedback to inform strategic decisions
  • Represent Midwinter at industry conferences and events and communicate vision and strategy
  • Prepare and monitor annual objectives, targets, measures and regular performance reviews, mentor, coach and development of the sales team

To be successful in this role, your background and experience will include:
  • Over 10 years experience in relevant software sales with a proven track record in business development meeting sales targets, driving revenue growth and closing large scale deals preferably within Financial Services 
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Advice applications and associated technology is highly valued
  • Expertise of small business and enterprise sales processes with a consultative sales approach 
  • An ability to understand the ever changing market as well as client demand and create compelling propositions that address the demand
  • Strong commercial and business acumen and experience with enterprise contracting and commercial drivers
  • Entrepreneurial, a sales leader with a collaborative, supportive and team based approach with proven successful management experience leading and managing a sales team to achieve sales objectives and targets
  • Strong communication, written and interpersonal skills, consulting, negotiation and presentation skills to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
  • An executive presence, ability to represent Midwinter in various customer and partner interactions, events and conferences
  • Experience in sales reporting, ability to use data and analysis to develop and drive strategies to achieve company and client goals
