What you’ll be doing
This role will interpret requirements into software specifications to ensure high quality software delivery. With your strong analytical skills, you will problem-solve client raised helpdesk tickets; analyse and replicate defects, test software fixes; and actively improve software development and business processes. You may also provide onsite client consulting as required.
Main Activities
- Gathering, understanding, and evaluating client requirements and translating those requirements into software solution designs
- Monitoring and actioning tickets raised in client helpdesk effectively, within defined timeframes
- Triaging, diagnosing and articulating defects or service issues raised by clients, routing to the appropriate teams as required.
- Assisting in release management and co-ordination of resources including development and testing
- Creating and executing System Test plans, functional test plans, and regression testing
To be successful in this role you will have
- Experience with software development lifecycle, rational databases, and SQL
- Be a natural at solving problems with the ability to suggest changes with confidence, clearly articulating the rationale
- Ability to distinguish between software, environmental and user errors.
- Tertiary education in Computer Science/Information Technology seen favorably.
- A reputation for excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- An aptitude for working to challenging deadlines and budgets on a continual basis
